Ton-e Rêve – Toaster : Broken — cassette release

Ton-e Rêve was conceived of by Eric Lewis in a dream some ten years ago. He woke up smiling and said to himself “wow, that ensemble I was playing with in my dream sounded great.” That ensemble was an extended version of what you hear on this recording, and, to his surprise, when he asked each member to actually be part of his dream band they all said yes! The quartet heard here has been playing together weekly for many years now, focusing the energy and spirit of 60s-70s free jazz through the prism of the band members varied musical backgrounds—jazz, post-rock, punk, no-wave, noise and free improvisation. Tone(e) Reve is comprised of:
Peter Burton: Double Bass
Eric Craven: Drums
Geneviève Gauthier: saxophones
Eric Lewis: assorted brass, bass clarinet, and assorted noise-makers
